Effective maintenance methods for Kjeldahl nitrogen analyzer

The nitrogen analyzer is an instrument used to detect the nitrogen content in seeds, dairy products, beverages, feed, soil, and other agricultural products. It is called Kjeldahl nitrogen analyzer because the method used to measure and calculate protein content is called Kjeldahl method.

Effective maintenance methods for Kjeldahl nitrogen analyzer:

1. Clean the reagent filter:

The apparatus is equipped with a filter to block particles from tap water and reagents. Clean the filter with tap water or compressed air. After reinstalling the cleaned filter, repeat the tubing installation steps.

2. Clean the boric acid tubing:

These tubing lines must always be full. Boric acid solution crystallizes when it comes into contact with air, causing blockages and affecting normal function. Therefore, the tubing must be cleaned.

3. Replace the tube connection device:

The tube connection device must be replaced when it loses its elasticity or becomes severely deformed and cannot provide a perfect seal.

4. After each change of standard titrant or receiving solution, and after instrument maintenance, the instrument's recovery rate should be measured.

Nitrogen analyzers can be categorized into manual nitrogen analyzer, semi-automatic nitrogen analyzer, and fully automatic nitrogen analyzer based on their level of automation. They are widely used for analyzing the nitrogen or protein content of samples such as food, crops, seeds, soil, and fertilizers.
