How to ensure the quality of Kjeldahl apparatus condenser

The condenser is one of the core components of the Kjeldahl nitrogen analyzer and is the most important basic guarantee for ensuring the repeatability, measurement accuracy, recovery rate and other parameters. Most Kjeldahl nitrogen analyzers use universal snake or spherical condensers.

The design of the condenser of the Kjeldahl analyzer must take into account the condensation effect and reduce the length of the condenser. Poor condensation effect, that is, insufficient condensation, will lead to high condensate outlet temperature, ammonia escape, and directly affect the recovery rate. If increase the condensation effect, it will increase the contact area between the condenser and the condensed water, which will inevitably increase the length of the condenser. Generally, at the end of the machine distillation, a pressure difference will be formed at the inlet and outlet of the condenser. This will lead to residual condensate. At this time, if the condenser is too long, it will lead to too much condensate residue. These excessive residues will cause large fluctuations in the machine test results, that is, the machine repeatability is poor.

The design of the condenser of Kjeldahl apparatus must also take into account the occurrence of back-inhalation. The general design is that part of the steam from the steam generation system will enter the digestion tube to distill the sample, and part will directly enter the condenser. Function 1: Prevent the liquid in the digestion tube from being sucked back into the steam generation system when the machine stops distillation, causing pollution to the steam generation system. Function 2: Increase the steam entering the condenser to allow ammonia to fully combine with water to generate ammonia water to further ensure the recovery rate of the instrument.
